I had to re-tell this amazingly funny story that one of my colleagues shared with me this week:
My colleague had sent her student aide to get her a cup of coffee from the office. The aide had returned with the coffee and set it neatly on the teachers desk. It was very very hot, having just been poured, so the teacher left it there to cool while she taught her lesson. About that same time, one of our special education students came around to collect the recycling from the room. This student saw the coffee, picked it up, and drank it in one gulp and set the cup back down. The students in the room were speechless, and having had her back to the coffee cup during the lesson, the teacher had no idea what happened to the coffee. Luckily, her students were more than willing to provide the explanation.
