Have you ever been part of a Twitter Chat? There are some great education and foreign language related Twitter Chats that take place each week. They provide great opportunities for teachers from across the country to talk about education issues and share ideas from the comfort of their own couch.
Joining a Twitter Chat is easy. I like to use TweetChat as it makes it very easy to follow along and participate in the conversation. Just go to TweetChat and enter the hashtag of the chat on the day and time when the chat is taking place.
Here are some of my favorite Twitter Chats for language teachers and education in general:
#langchat - Thursdays, 8 PM EST (foreign language teachers)
#edchat - Tuesdays, 12 PM EST / 7 PM EST (ed issues)
#spanstuchat - Tuesdays, 9 PM EST / 1st & 3rd weeks of the month
#MexEdChat - Mondays, 10 PM EST / bi-weekly (bilingual)
#reflectiveteacher - Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 7 PM EST
Check it out! You can also use these conversations as evidence of professionalism and personal development!
