El Día de los Enamorados, El Día de la Amistad, El Día de San Valentín, El Día de Amor y Amistad; no matter which name this day is given, it is pretty obvious that love and friendship are an important part of Latin American (and Spanish) culture. It is a great opportunity to get your students to express their appreciation for the friends, family members, and educators that truly care. Here are a couple of lessons to get your own students to use their language skills and learn a bit about the culture of this holiday in the Spanish-speaking world...

Silly Spanish Sentences: El Día de los Enamorados
Let's face it, not everyone has such a positive outlook on Valentine's Day, especially those that have recently experienced the other side of the romance coin. This Silly Spanish Día de los Enamorados lesson has something for everyone, even the naysayers! Included are two activities, one for the lovers and one for the haters! Either way, your students will enjoy choosing words to string together into silly sentences about love and friendship...or frenemies as the case may be. They will need to use their grammar and vocabulary smarts to make the winning sentence!
